Janoš Terzić, prof. dr. sc.



Janoš Terzić je doktor medicine te je redoviti profesor u trajnom zvanju pri Katedri za imunologiju i medicinsku genetiku. Provodi temeljna biomedicinska istraživanja zloćudnih tumora debelog crijeva, jetre i mokraćnog mjehura. Proučava povezanost upalnih procesa i tumora, genetsku podlogu tumora te ulogu mikrobiote u razvoju tumora. Rezultate svojih istraživanja objavio je u više od 40 znanstvenih radova koji su u WoS-u citirani preko 5800 puta. Dva rada na kojima je ključni autor citirana su preko 2300 puta. Janoš Terzić je znanstvena istraživanja provodio na University of California San Diego, University of Connecticut Health Center i Max Planck institutima. Osnovao je Laboratorij za istraživanje raka te je pokretač programa NobelST grada Splita. Dobitnik je više domaćih nagrada, uključivo i Državnu nagradu za znanost te jedne inozemne nagrade. 
Sudjeluje u edukaciji studenata različitih studijskih programa, održao je veliki broj javnih, popularno-znanstvenih predavanja te je sudjelovao u više programa popularizacije znanosti. Od strane diplomiranih studenata programa ”doktor medicine”, 2016. godine izabran je za ”najdražeg profesora”. Bio je su-organizator većeg broj međunarodnih konferencija, te je na više konferencija bio pozvani predavač.
 
Janoš Terzić is a doctor of medicine and is a full professor at the Department of Immunology and Medical Genetics. Conducts basic biomedical research on malignant tumors of the colon, liver, and bladder. He studies the connection between inflammatory processes and tumors, the genetic background of tumors, and the role of the microbiota in tumor development. He has published the results of his research in more than 40 scientific papers that have been cited over 5,800 times in WoS. The two papers on which he is a key author have been cited over 2300 times. Janoš Terzić conducted scientific research at the University of California San Diego, the University of Connecticut Health Center, and the Max Planck Institutes. He founded the Laboratory for Cancer Research and is the initiator of the NobelST program in the city of Split. He has won several domestic awards, including the State Award for Science and one foreign award.
He participates in the education of students of various study programs, has held a large number of public, popular science lectures, and has participated in several programs to popularize science. In 2016, he was chosen as the "favorite professor" by graduate students of the "doctor of medicine" program. He was a co-organizer of a number of international conferences and was an invited speaker at several conferences.
