Fifth period

Results of the fifth project period (January - June 2013)
During the last project period experiments were completed and new preliminary studies were initiated for application to an international research project and developing new research lines. Lejla Ferhatovic defended her doctoral thesis based on the project results, and Ivan Skopljanac defended his MD thesis based on the project results. Injections of CaMKII inhibitors near spinal cord and into dorsal root ganglion confirmed project hypothesis. Our studies have shown that CaMKII is a potential pharmacological target for treating neuropathic pain in diabetes mellitus.
