Summer School on Communication Skills in Pharmacy - Advanced Level (
SSCSP-AL)
• Communication skills in Pharmacy – Advanced level
Learning outcomes Basic level:
- To recognize different levels of study programs and to identify different dimensions of cognitive process;
- To interpret different levels of knowledge; to interpret different levels of skills;
- To implement learning outcomes in a specific course and to compare different assessment methods according to learning outcomes;
- To clarify differences between competencies and knowledge/skills;
- To clarify self-awareness, self-reflection, self-care and reflects with others on own communication and behavior;
- To deal with errors and uncertainty and to addresses errors and respects uncertainty as an integral part of reasoning and decision-making;
- To demonstrate ability to communicate effectively in multi-professional teams, and to demonstrate basic competencies in leadership skills;
- To use effective and efficient communication and management strategies;
- To illustrate the scenarios of inter-professional and professional communication;
- To use elements of communication as a part of patient-centered pharmaceutical care;
- To illustrate most common communication approaches for interviewing patients in Pharmacy;
- To clarify communication strategies to help patients with medication management and minimize medication errors.
Learning outcomes Advanced level:
- To describe and explain basics of communication;
- To analyze elements of communication as a part of patient-centered pharmaceutical care;
- To clarify most common communication approaches for interviewing patients in Pharmacy;
- To identify communication strategies to help patients with medication management and minimize medication errors;
- To distinguish different communication needs for specific patient populations;
- To implement tools for communication skills development and evaluation for Pharmacy students;
- To demonstrate individually communication approaches and strategies in different simulated patients (OSCE);
- To clarify the observed individual communication mistakes in different simulated patients (OSCE);
- To describe different communication needs for specific patient populations.
